A Grant of Rs. 33 lakhs was received by the physical department in pursuance of Optical Communication and Condense matter. The Grant was won in an all India Competition organized by Fund for Improvement of science and Technology. The special report was prepared by Dr. P. R. Tutakne ,Dr. Sanjay Tiwari under the guidance of Dr. R. K. sood, Head of the Deptt. The Presentation was given by Dr. Vishnu Majumdar, before eminent scientists at Technology Bhawan, New Delhi.
